Morris
Aerie launches web site
The
Morris Aerie of Fraternal Order of Eagles has launched its
web site in time for its centennial celebration in June 2004.
The web site has all of the events and information the community
service organization is planning for the weekend of June 4-6,
2004
The web
site address is www.foe620.org.
"The
site is going to be primarily information associated with
our centennial," says Mike Cihak, secretary of Morris
Aerie. "After our centennial, the site will host information
pertaining to the Morris Aerie, such as information on how
to request charitable donations, meeting schedule, news, projects
and much more."
Currently,
the site has information about the Morris Aerie centennial,
including events schedule, latest centennial news, driving
directions for out of town visitors, lodging options and sponsorship
information.
The web
site is the latest effort by the 100-year-old organization
to inform the community of the community celebration. "This
is not only a celebration for the Morris Eagles, but also
for the entire community to celebrate what the Eagles and
many other community service organizations are all about,"
says Cihak. "And that is helping our community."
Earlier
this month, a billboard was installed
for the next two months greeting visitors from the north on
Highway 9 adjacent to McDonalds. The billboard of course,
has the new web site address on it.
The Eagles
expects a great turnout for the events slated the first weekend
of June. The organization is hosting a supper, a free street
dance, co-ed softball tournament and a free community picnic
at Eastside Park.
