Minnesota
State President Wintersteen to bring his 'Big Rig'
The
'Big Rig' is coming to town!
Yes,
the 18-wheeler belonging to Minnesota State Aerie Worthy President
Don Wintersteen will be visiting Morris Aerie #620 during
Prairie Pioneer Days July 10th and 11th, 2004. The truck will
be the focal point of Morris Aerie's parade float during the
annual community celebration.
Wintersteen,
as an owner and operator of a trucking company in Bemidji,
Minn., it was easy for him to come up with his unique membership
theme - "Truck on FOE." During special visits, events
and meetings for the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Wintersteen
usually hooks up his trailer and drives his rig all around
the state of Minnesota. All along the way, it is a moving
billboard that is very hard to miss.
During
the parade, the Morris Aerie is planning on having a representative
from each of the groups, organizations and individuals it
has made donations to, walk along the truck as part of a 'living
float.' According to Centennial Committee members, the float
could be a block long, due to the many contributions it has
made to a wide variety of benefactors in the Morris Community.
In addition
to the parade during Prairie Pioneer Days, Wintersteen may
bring his rig for the Morris Aerie's Centennial Celebration
and be on display during the aerie's celebration events, including
the community picnic at Eastside Park on Sunday, June 6th.
So look
for the rig coming down the road this June and July and "Truck
on FOE!"
